Classical Guitar

A classical guitar has three metal wound strings (usually silver) and three clear nylon strings.

Steel String Acoustic Guitar

An acoustic (sometimes called western or folk) guitar has six metal strings, usually four wound strings and two plain steel on the bottom. The wound strings are a golden brownish colour.

Electric Guitar

An electric guitar has six metal strings, usually three wound strings and three plain steels on the bottom. The strings are a silver colour and are usually nickel wound.
